Creating the Fortress of Vengeance: From Concept to Reality

Bringing the Fortress of Vengeance to life has been a rewarding journey filled with both creativity and technical challenges. From the initial concept sketches to the final 3D design, we focused on ensuring that this modular fortress looks great and prints easily on both FDM and resin printers.

Concept Art: Drawing Inspiration

Our artists began by researching well-known terrain pieces, using them as references to craft the concept art. This laid the foundation for the fortress’s modular and customizable features, combining traditional elements with flexibility for endless variations.

3D Design: Optimized for Printing

Once the concept was solidified, we moved to 3D modeling. We're currently working to ensure the fortress prints smoothly on both FDM and resin printers without any compromise in quality. FDM provides accessibility, while resin delivers higher detail, making it important for us to cater to both.

The Fortress of Vengeance stands out for its modularity. You can easily rearrange, swap, and customize every piece — whether it’s changing wall placements, adding towers, or swapping out weapon setups — allowing you to adapt the fortress to different scenarios and strategies.

Our cannons are also equipped with a 3D-printed mechanism, making the barrels fully movable. Assembly is straightforward, ensuring your fortress is battle-ready in no time.

Printing Challenges: Support Marks and Weight

Resin printing, while detailed, presents challenges like distortion from support points that affect assembly and appearance. To overcome this, we designed modular parts to minimize these issues, making printing and assembly smoother. Additionally, managing resin weight was key, as we aimed to use less resin without compromising durability or detail.

To address this, we’re developing reinforcement ribs and self-supporting decorative elements that reduce material usage while maintaining the fortress's structural integrity. This ensures high-quality models that are affordable and practical for backers to print.
